The Western Region of the SSMRC is preparing for another busy fall season. Work will be plentiful and spread out across the four-state region with multiple petrochemical and power-generation projects starting in September.
We are expecting projects to start weekly after Labor Day and continue through October, with most of the work in the petrochemical facilities occurring between Houston, Texas, and Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Arkansas and Oklahoma should see an increase in the need for millwrights working on the Big River Steel expansion and new construction in Osceola, Arkansas. Additional millwrights will be needed for hydro projects with Andritz in Oklahoma.
In North Texas, major expansions at DFW Airport and General Motors and the Texas Instruments project in Sherman are expected to kick off.
