Q4 2022 Eastern Region update: Communication will be key to success in 2023

The Eastern Region’s 2022 man-hours have been consistent with man-hours from previous years. We are expecting 2023 to be a very busy year. Some major projects are going to launch in the first quarter of 2023 that will require significant manpower. This will be in addition to one of the busiest spring nuclear-outage seasons we have ever seen. We are anticipating major manpower callouts in the Carolinas, Georgia, and Florida.

During 2023, we need you, our industry partners, to communicate with us well in advance of your projects. To be successful together, we need to know your labor requirements as soon as possible. We will need your assistance with recruiting new members, working on apprenticeship ratios, and allowing apprentices time off to attend their apprenticeship classes. Our team has been working very hard to recruit and train new members in anticipation of increased demand, however, the road is still going to be challenging. Communication can mitigate potential impacts on your projects in 2023.

I hope each of you enjoyed time with your families during this holiday season, and we look forward to a very successful new year.
