The SSMRC will send you a free t-shirt after you complete the online course “101 Constitution: U.S. Government and Labor Law,” which is hosted in the United Brotherhood of Carpenters Department of Education and Training’s Learning Management System. The self-paced, five-part course includes sections on:
- The U.S. Constitution
- How Laws are Made
- Parties and Elections
- State and Local Government
- Labor Law
This course provides valuable information on how the U.S. government and its labor laws operate. It’s important for SSMRC members to have this knowledge because they can play a role in electing candidates who care about issues affecting union workers, our families, and our communities.
Each month, the council will mail t-shirts to members who completed the course during the prior month. If you have already taken the course, we will send your shirt in December.
You should be able to self-enroll for 101 Constitution at https://ubc-det.carpenters.org/. You will need to log in using your carpenters.org user ID and password. If you have any issues, please reach out to Ron Fritzemeier, IT director for the SSMRC, at rfritzemeier@ssmrc4070.org so he can help you register.
