Western Region Work Update – October 2022

Things have picked up across Oklahoma and Arkansas with several projects in the pulp and paper industry for Kimberly Clark and Georgia Pacific.  Walbridge is still performing work in both Arkansas and Oklahoma in the light conveyor & distribution industry.  Turbine work has also been busy with several projects for APM at OG&E, Independence, and White Bluff Power.  The ANO outage has also kicked off with over 80 millwrights expected to be employed.  The Hydro projects with Andritz are ongoing with more work expected to be awarded in the near future.

Local 729

As usual for this time of year the petrochemical industry is in full season with several projects for UPS, TISS, Ethos, and Axis Mechanical across the state.  We are continuing to capture even more power generation work in Louisiana with multiple projects staring in October with O’Connor, Turbine Pros, SGS, and APM.  Towards the end of the month we also have work picking up at Georgia Pacific with Boldt and Milton J Wood.

Local 1421

The North Texas area has picked up work at Owens Corning, Miller Brewery, and Pratt Industries outside of their usual work at General Motors in Arlington.  There is upcoming work at Delek Refinery in both Tyler and Big Springs.  SGS will have a project starting at Panda Power in Temple and Turbine Pros has had several projects in the Central Texas area as well.

Local 2232

The Gulf Coast is still steam rolling this year with petrochemical projects across the area ongoing with more coming down the road at DOW, Exxon, Shell, and Freeport LNG.  Power generation work has been busy as well with projects ongoing for APM and SGS with upcoming work at Colorado Bend for APM with more work at NRG WA parish and TH Wharton for Turbine Pros also.
