Representatives from the SSMRC’s Central Region attended the Mobile Oilmen’s Annual Golf Tournament in late April, with the council sponsoring a hole at the tournament to bring exposure to more than 450 participants from industries in the Gulf region.
Central Region Director Jeff Smith, Local 1192 Business Representatives Lessie Roberts and Clint Smith, Local 1554 Business Representative William Condon and Local 729 Business Representative Mike Hines were all able to meet with potential industry partners during the two-day event.
Two coolers were given away to participants in a business card raffle and a chipping contest, and Hines earned the council some recognition after his bacon-wrapped pork chops and chicken thighs brought home a first-place prize in the tournament’s cooking contest.
Attending the Mobile Oilmen’s event was an excellent opportunity to promote SSMRC Millwrights, said Jeff Smith.
“It was a fantastic event to position ourselves in front of industry owners and contractors,” he said. “The SSMRC Brand recognition opportunity at the event was immeasurable and a huge success!”
