Western Region Work Updates – August 2022

Texas

In the Dallas area we are looking at projects coming up at Owens Corning for about six weeks and another project at Dalek Refining for four to five weeks.  Central Texas is picking up with work at Tesla, Samsung, and projects popping up in the Midland and Big Spring area.  On the Gulf Coast, we are preparing for another extremely busy outage season with work at Motiva Port Arthur, Exxon Baytown, Shell Deer Park, and Chevron Baytown among others.

Louisiana

Louisiana will have work coming up in power gen, petrochemical and pulp and paper.  We are monitoring projects with APM that may need 40 to 60 millwrights, along with other projects needing 20 or more millwrights.  We will also have multiple papermill outages in the near future with Graphic Packaging and Pratt Industries.  As always the petrochemical shutdowns will be busy with work at Shell Norco, Exxon Baton Rouge, and Dow Plaquemine.

Arkansas

In Arkansas the work in September will be booming.  Multiple pulp and paper projects along with conveyor work across the state.  Turbine and power gen work for APM and APCom is scheduled as well.

Oklahoma

Oklahoma will have a good fall season kicking off with work for Andritz Hydro that started this Summer and may ramp up even more.  We are also expecting some conveyor work in Broken Arrow along with pulp and paper projects at Georgia Pacific and Kimberly Clark.  On the power generation side of things, Seminole Power will have a large project running nearly three months with APM and other projects with Siemens.
