The UBC Advantage
The Southern States Millwright Regional Council is part of the half-million-strong United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America. Our affiliation with the UBC gives us access to incredible resources to train our members. Both in training centers or on jobsites, we prepare them for certifications and qualifications so they can quickly learn the content, gain their credentials, and get to work.
The first step is progressing through an apprenticeship — a four-year program where instruction is done on the jobsite and at state-of-the-art training centers, using a customized curriculum, modern tools, and training shops designed to create true experts.
The Benefits of being a Southern States Millwright:
- All apprenticeship classes, and training are provided at no cost to the student
- Earn a good hourly rate during the apprenticeship, and receive raises as you progress
- Receive on-the-job training with experienced journeymen
- Learn from seasoned instructors with years of experience in their respective fields
- Receive certification in the particular course of study selected
